Is It May Yet?

Gluten and Allergy Free Expo

On May 2 and 3, 2015 there will be a Gluten and Allergy Free Expo in Schaumburg, Illinois. The event will be held in the Schaumburg Convention Center from 10-4 on both of these dates.

GFExpo, Flicker

What does the expo offer?

The cost of the ticket is at most twenty dollars for adults and children age three to twelve are five dollars at most (not including tax). With this one time entry fee it comes with a free year subscription to Delight Gluten Free Magazine. This is  just one of the perks of ordering and going to the Gluten Free and Allergy Expo. Other perks are free product samples, caring bag for samples, speakers, and great experiences.

The expo will offer at least 100 specialty vendors. These vendors offer from food products to everyday use products. Also, at the expo there will be big well known allergy free companies to private owned specialty food vendors.  With this the expo will provide the consumers with their own caring bag. The bags are a genius idea I have to say. This is because the vendors will be giving out free samples to the participants and nothing like a great new bag to put their products in. With the great product sampling there is the speakers at this expo.

There are a great amount of speakers that will be presenting during the two day event. On Saturday May 2nd and 3rd there should be a total of 8 presenters over the two days, averaging out to an hour each. On May 2nd Vannessa Miltin Weisbrod will be talking about how to convert wheat flour recipes to the equivalent of all of the gluten free starches. Also, Dan Chapman will be teaching how to deal with a person you know is having an allergic reason and how to address the side effects. On Sunday May 3rd  Kathy Smart will be talking about how to lose weight by not eating gluten filled products. Also, on May 3rd Carol Kininski will be teaching about how to live a gluten free life style. As time goes on I bet there will be more presenters joining this expo.

Lastly, the most important part in my book about the expo in Schaumber, Illinois is the experience. In my opinion experience of food and products are the hardest to achieve for allergy free consumers. Food and products that do not contain  certain allergens are usually  more expensive then general consumer goods. Which leads back to the consumers need to experience the product before purchase . This is where the expo comes in by allowing these consumers sample products without having to dig deep in their pockets. In the end leading to savings for consumers and profits for the companies.

I can not wait to attend this great event in May.....is it May yet?
